I really adore this look, seen on Stil in Berlin. I think it's amazing that this works, or that a raccoon hat can work at all. Maybe it's the modesty and understated chicness of the rest of the outfit that just makes the hat not only work, but totally necessary.
I think the fact that she's absolutely gorgeous probably helps a lot too!
