I'll be heading home later this month to meet my new nephew and see the rest of my family for my birthday. Seeing these paper planes made me even more excited for the trip.

I just ran across this shop on Etsy that just started selling yesterday, and fell instantly in love with the paper plane reconstructions they have for sale at very reasonable prices. Be sure to pick one up at panchabheda.

Nesting

I found myself doing quite a bit of knitting today--it's the perfect season to whip up loads of scarves and mittens, and something about fall just makes me feel very domestic and at-home. I ran off to get tons of new fall colors, many of which will be coming to the shop in the coming weeks.

We watched L'Atalante last night, as we were fortunate enough to snag a DVD copy before New Yorker Films went out of business.

I adore the scene where Dita Parlo is eagerly listening to a fashion news broadcast, which is discussing the latest styles including the importance of a beret with the left side of the brim turned upwards .

I'm particularly in love with the last piece--a 1950's cream shift dress with pockets. It really reminds me of a dress I've seen in a movie somewhere, but I can't remember where I've seen it before.
