Street style: pulling off a raccoon hat

I really adore this look, seen on Stil in Berlin. I think it's amazing that this works, or that a raccoon hat can work at all. Maybe it's the modesty and understated chicness of the rest of the outfit that just makes the hat not only work, but totally necessary.

I think my favorite here has to be the last one, where only the forehead and ponytail of a little girl obviously too short for the photobooth poses anyway.

Holiday Shopping: New Babies

Nothing is more fun than shopping for babies. They love whatever you give them, and it's an excuse to give often impractical but always adorable gifts. Fortunately this year, I have a new nephew for whom I'm very excited about gift-giving this holiday season.

New to the shop: Hats

Many new hats are coming to the shop this week. Here are a few of my favorites that are already up--my favorites have to be the cozy winter fur hats, though there's something great about the totally impractical headpiece that only exists for reasons of loveliness, eschewing all notions of practicality.

Cozy shades of autumn: rustic vs. homey

Tis the season for all things cozy. I've been gravitating towards these two color palates this season--rustic browns and silvers, and cranberry with ruby red.
